Some English words in which people often make mistakes
अंग्रेजी के कुछ ऐसे शब्द जिनमे लोग अक्सर गलतियाँ कर जाते हैं
1.Accept (असैप्ट ) - स्वीकार करना I can not accept all your conditions. मैं तुम्हारी सभी शर्तें नहीं मान सकता।
Except ( ऐक्सैप्ट ) = अतिरिक्त Everyone was present except Neha. नेहा के अतिरिक्त सभी लोग उपस्थित थे।
2. Advise (ऐडवार्डज) सलाह देना The doctor has advised me not to work late hours.'डॉक्टर ने मुझे रात देर तक काम न करने की सलाह दी।
Advice ( ऐडवाइज ) - सलाह The doctor's advice fell flat on him. = डॉक्टर की सलाह का उस पर कोई प्रभाव न पड़ा।
3. Excess अधिकता Excess of work has told upon his health. काम की अधिकता से उसकी सेहत पर बुरा प्रभाव पड़ा।
Access (ऐकसेस) पहुँच I have no access to the D. C. मेरी डी० सी० तक पहुँच नहीं है।
4. Affect (अफैक्ट) प्रभाव डालना Your bitter words affected him. आपके कड़वे शब्दों का उस पर प्रभाव पड़ा।
Effect( इफैक्ट ) - प्रभाव There was no effect of your bitter words upon him. आपके कड़वे शब्दों का उसपर कोई प्रभाव नहीं था।
5. Alter (आलटर ) - बदलना I cannot alter my programme. मैं अपना कार्यक्रम नहीं बदल सकता।
Altar (आलटर) = बेदी The priest bent down before the altar of the goddess. पुजारी देवी की वेदी के सामने झुका।
6. Apposite ( ऐपोजिट) बिलकुल ठीक My argument in this content are apposite. मेरी दलील इस संदर्भ में बिल्कुल ठीक है।
Opposite (अपोजिट) सामने या उलटा Your house is opposite to the Post office. -आपका घर पोस्ट ऑफिस के सामने है।
7. Assent (असैंट ) स्वीकृति Before finalizing this tour the principal's assent is must. टूर के कार्यक्रम को अन्तिम रूप देने से पहले प्रिंसीपल की स्वीकृति अति आवश्यक है।
Ascent (ऐसैट) - चढ़ाई The ascent to this hill is quite difficult. इस पहाड़ी पर चढ़ाई बहुत कठिन है।
8.. Borne ( बोर्न ) सहन करना Parents borne all difficulties for their children. मां बाप अपने बच्चों के लिए अनेक कष्ट उठाते हैं।
Born ( बोर्न) - पैदा होना - I was born on 17th June 1973. मैं जून 1973 को पैदा हुआ था।
9. Bear (बीयर) सहन करना I cannot bear this insult मै इस अपमान को सहन नहीं कर सकता।
Bare (बेअर) नंगे पैर Do not walk bare-foot. -नंगे पाँव मत चलो।
10. Birth (बर्थ) जन्म He is blind by birth. वह तो जन्म से ही अन्धा है।
Berth (बर्थ) सीट Please get a berth reserved for me in Magadha Exp. - कृपया मगध एक्सप्रेस में मेरी एक सीट रिजर्व करा लें।
11. War (वार)- युद्ध Modern war will be atomic war. आधुनिक युद्ध परमाणु युद्ध होगा
Battle (बैटल ) लड़ाई Babar won the first battle of Panipat बाबर ने पानीपत की प्रथम लड़ाई जीती थी।
12. Caste (कास्ट) जाति Manu started the caste system. मनु जी ने जातपात का सिलसिला शुरू किया।
Cast (कास्ट) डालना = To whom will you cast your vote. आप अपना वोट किसे देंगे।
13. Canvass (कैनवस) किसी के पक्ष में प्रचार करना Are your canvassing against V.J.P क्या आप भारतीय जनता पार्टी (भा० ज० पा०) के विरोध में प्रचार कर रहे हैं?
Canvas (कनवास) कपडा My brother has brought canvas shoes for me. मेरा भाई मेरे लिए कपड़े के जूते लाया है।
14. Canon (कैनन) धर्म के नियम = We should not break canons. हमें धर्म के नियम नहीं तोड़ने चाहिए।
Cannon (कैनन ) तोप Cannon was in front of them. तोप उनके सामने थी।
15.Childish (चाईल्डश) - बच्चों जैसी Give up your childish habits. You are grown up now. [-] बच्चों जैसी आदत छोड़ो। तुम बड़े हो गये हो।
Childlike (चाईल्ड लाईक)- बच्चे के समान He has childlike simplicity. - उसमें बच्चे जैसी सादगी है।
